The process

From impression to ear

A clear, rigorous process designed to ensure quality at every stage.

Stage 01In practice

Ear impression

The hearing care professional takes the ear impression in the practice. It can be sent physically to our workshop, or digitised directly with the Smart Optics scanner for faster processing.

Physical impression or digital scan
Stage 02Jiholabo workshop

Receipt and 3D scanning

On receipt, the ear impression is digitised with precision. Each file is checked: geometry, potential seal, anatomical features. A Smart Optics scan lets you skip this stage and shorten the lead time by 1 to 2 days.

Stage 03CAD

3D modelling

The digital file is modelled according to the specifications of the ordered product: piece type, shape, material and additional options (cord, IROS, bikini). The model is approved before production.

Precision down to tenths of a millimetre
Stage 04Production

Production

The piece is produced using the technology suited to the material: laser 3D printing for acrylic resin and Thermotec, and dedicated processes for titanium and silicone. Every piece is handled individually.

Stage 05Craft

Hand-finishing

Every piece goes through a manual finishing stage: polishing, surface check, logo application if requested and final quality control. This is what sets Jiholabo apart from purely industrial production.

Stage 06Delivery

Delivery

The piece is dispatched to your practice. The standard lead time is 4 working days for custom earmoulds from receipt of the ear impression. Orders placed through shop.jiholabo.com can be tracked in real time.
